Two

Two is the name of a Golem living in Harlowe Hall. She appears to be completely human, except for the faintly etched runes across her forehead that give her life. She was freed after her maker and master married; Two's new mistress had her own servants, and did not want to have Two around.
Two has the unfortunate fate of being a Golem given freedom but programmed to serve. Her maker designed her with the capabilities for free thought and action, but to keep her from ever rebelling, integrated servitude into her psyche, the result being that she is often in distress due to conflicting orders. Many of the characters make the mistake of telling Two to do "what she wants" in various situations, which almost always results in both distress and repetition of the phrase "I want to do as I am told". Receiving conflicting orders seems to cause both physical and psychological distress for Two, the severity of which appears directly proportional to the amount of disparity between such orders.
Two has been portrayed sympathetically, with a few of the Fifth Floor Girls watching out for her. When she had difficulty eating, Mackenzie and Puddy gave her broad enough instructions that she can get what she likes. Two has, though, been the target of less sympathetic people, as in Chapter 28, when she was ordered to get lost and attempts to enter the school's labyrinth.
Her tendency to follow orders has also been taken advantage of by some of the girls who also look out for her; notably, Puddy has used Two as a messenger on occasion, regardless of Two's feelings about the situation. It was suggested by Steff that Two get a job in the fast food industry, and so Two currently works at the local White House.
To comply with the university's weapons policy Two carries a mace, the principal enchantment of which seems to be to deliver a stunning electrical shock to the target.
Two lived in room 415 with Dee through 115: The Election. She changed rooms in the chapter gap, so since 116: Nocturnal Immersions she has been sharing Room 417 with Mackenzie. She is a Domestic Arts major.

A major theme in Tales of MU is Two's lack of ability to think independently of the orders she has been given. Various characters have given Two orders in the MU canon, most notably Mackenzie, who is trying to give Two open-ended orders in order to better equip her to cope with being a free being. Two is shown to slowly develop in character so she is able to prioritize orders, disregard or choose between conflicting orders, and work creatively within the boundaries her orders have given her.
