Lance Cedar

Lance Cedar is a student attending Magisterius University. He is apparently fully human and snobbishly proud of that fact. He is described by James Bowman as "a tall, red-headed, freckle-faced guy". In their first meeting Mack simply describes him as "a preppy-looking guy". He is a member of “The Most Just And Pious Brethren of the Blue-White Rose.”
Lance is senior editor of the student-run campus newspaper the Gazetteer. He first appeared in Chapter 1: Welcome to MU as the nameless preppy-looking guy who directs Mack to Harlowe Hall with a look of disgust. He showed up again in Chapter 3: Welcome Festival when he told his fraternity brothers that she's a "Harlot". He then dropped out of sight until the Bonus Story: Black And White And Read All Over, in which he barged in on an interview between Gazetteer reporter Lucinda Blake and Harlowe fifth floor resident dark elf Delia Daella d'Wyr. His flat-out refusal to issue a correction or apology for the misrepresentation of her name in Kent Angstrom's article on Mackenzie or to allow any article representing Dee's side of things to run in the paper prompted Dee to stage another naked protest outside the office of the Gazetteer.

It is not yet known whether Lance resides in Pelinor Hall, Burlew Hall or the fraternity hall adjoined to Harlowe Hall, but judging by his membership in The Most Just And Pious Brethren of the Blue-White Rose the latter seems likely.
