Kiersta

Kiersta is the R.A., or Residence Assistant, for the fifth floor of Harlowe Hall. As at a traditional college or university, she appears to be an older student residing on a freshman hall in order to enforce rules and to extend assistance to residents where needed.

Kiersta is a full human, despite the fact that Harlowe is traditionally a residence for nonhuman students, and Celia has expressed dissatisfaction with having a human R.A. She interacts with the other fifth floor girls only rarely, and is not generally seen as a positive influence. Mackenzie rejected the idea of reporting Sooni's abuse of Kai to her.

Kiersta appears to be scared of her fellow residents. She must have classes to go to, but no one sees her going to them and she spends the rest of her time locked in her dorm room. It could be, however, that she is just very introverted and being placed in Harlowe has been too much of a shock to her.

Kiersta has her own private unnumbered room at the end of the hall closest to the communal bathroom and across from the stairwell. Evidently she keeps her door bolted shut most of the time out of fear of her charges.
