Feast of Veil

A festival, roughly analogous to Halloween in the classical universe. The Feast of Veil is celebrated by the donning of costumes; in its introduction in Chapter 47, inferences are made that it also concerns itself with the life/death cycle and creatures traditionally associated with death, including ghosts. It is celebrated in mid autumn.

More than one Feast apparently exists in the MUniverse calendar, as they are referred to in the plural, but only Veil has been discussed in particular.

Mackenzie's grandmother, a strict Khersian of unknown denomination, refused to celebrate the Feast of Veil because she considered it an "Arkanite heresy". As the origin of the Feast is not known, the accuracy of this interpretation cannot be determined. The symbol used by Arkhanites to identify one another is the Veiled Eye, which may be a reference related to the Feast.
