Divine Magic

Divine Magic, or theurgy, is commonly regarded as the act of invoking the favor and attention of a god or goddess. In its most dramatic form, it is a miracle. However, as one of the two basic types of magic, it is a broad and useful thing, if less controlled or common than Thaumaturgy. Theurgy has historically been the form of magic most commonly used to perform healing, though this may be beginning to change as the field of arcane Life magic develops. Theurgy is the form of magic which links a nymph to her field. Steff believes that Divine Magic can be generated by the collective belief of the worshipers of a religion. She believes that the Elven Gods have been dead for Two Ages, and therefore needs to explain how an Elf Cleric such as Dee can cast Divine Magic.

Divine magic is very heavily implied to damage demons -- Mackenzie broke her toe against a divine ward early on, and a blessed pen burned her in the clinic.
